our latest film.
a film written and directed by my lifelong friend Chris, who works in the film industry on the islands. in 2020, he asked his colleagues to help him film this project but because it was during covid, they all said "no". so he rallied his friends instead and we brought his vision to life. this was the first film we made together.
this film is inspired by our friend Dylan who is a social worker on oahu. The story deals with the reality of helping people and gives the honest perspective on what you sacrifice to make a difference.
since the good skates, we've gotten slightly better at making movies :P
A Portrait is about a young man named Evan, navigating through life. He seems to be stuck in his head rather than actually living it. This film is a great depiction of today's society with social media and how easily people can get caught up in other people's lives, where they can become too consumed focusing on those around them rather than taking the opportunities in front of them and relishing the moments.
